This Privacy Policy is published in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (Applicable Law) Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (together, the “Applicable Law”). RentRadar acts as the Data Fiduciary, determining the purpose and means of processing personal data provided by the Data Principals (“Users”).

The Platform is operated by RentRadar and its subsidiaries, licensees and affiliated companies (collectively, “RentRadar/We/Our”).

DEFINITIONS

• “Data Principal” means the individual to whom the personal data relates.
• “Data Fiduciary” means RentRadar, which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data.
• “Personal Data” means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data.
• “Processing” means a wholly or partly automated operation performed on personal data.
• “Consent” means a free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous indication of your agreement to the processing of your personal data.
• “Data Processor” means any third party that processes personal data on behalf of RentRadar.

GENERAL

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, consult or process any personal information provided through the Website or through our Services. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform Users how we gather, define, and use the information that is provided to us when using our Services. Please take a moment to read this Privacy Policy carefully.

RentRadar may change or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to incorporate necessary future changes. RentRadar’s use of the Personal Data shall be in adherence with the provisions of the Privacy Policy.

RentRadar terms require all account owners to be at least eighteen (18) years of age (or have the permission and supervision of a responsible parent or legal guardian), therefore this policy does not discuss the use of our Services by minors.

Please read through this Privacy Policy to better understand what data we use and how we use your data for each of the above classifications.

COLLECTION OF DATA

RentRadar processes Personal Data only for specified purposes (detailed below). The granularity of data collection depends on your level of interaction with the platform:

System and telemetric information

• Data collected: IP address, device identifiers, browser plug-in types and versions, model, storage capacity, mobile network details, and operating system version, and cookies; to maintain network security, optimize website performance, and prevent fraudulent bot activity. This helps us to provide you with a good user experience when you use the Platform and also allows us to improve the Platform.
• Usage logs: Data regarding your technical interactions with the Platform to ensure operational stability.

Personal data

• Identity data: Full name; date of birth, email address, phone number, Aadhaar/PAN;
• city and locality preference;
• property details (for owners listing properties), address, rent, BHK type, availability;
• payment information (plan type, transaction reference) — we do not store card or UPI credentials
• WhatsApp account details to the extent visible when you communicate with us. By contacting us on our Whatsapp number or by interacting with the same, you consent to the collection and processing of your WhatsApp contact details via the WhatsApp Business API for the purpose of receiving customer support and coordination. You acknowledge that by initiating communication with our business account, your data is processed through Meta’s secure infrastructure in accordance with their standard business terms.
• If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails, we may collate such information into a file specific to you.

Processing of personal data is carried out based on:

• Consent: Explicit, affirmative consent obtained at the time of account creation or purchase.
• Certain legitimate uses: Including the voluntary provision of data for specific services or compliance with legal mandates (e.g., GST reporting).

In addition to the data provided directly by you, RentRadar may receive and process Personal Data from third-party sources. Such processing is conducted solely in compliance with Applicable Law. These sources include, but are not limited to:

• Financial & transactional service providers: We receive confirmation of payment, transaction status, and partial billing details from integrated payment gateways;
• Technical & analytics providers: We receive pseudonymized usage trends, crash reports, and engagement metrics from service providers to ensure the technical integrity and optimization of the Platform.
• Social media & identity providers: If you elect to register or log in via third-party single sign-on (SSO) services, we receive your authenticated profile data (name, email, profile picture) as permitted by your privacy settings on those platforms.
• Advertising & search networks: We may receive data regarding your interaction with our advertisements and search queries from advertising partners to measure the effectiveness of our upskilling outreach.

Legal basis for third-party data processing: RentRadar ensures that any data received from third parties is processed under the grounds of ‘affirmative consent’ (provided by you to the third party).

Collection of data from public sources

In addition to data submitted directly by users, RentRadar may collect, aggregate, or ingest property listings and associated owner or contact information from publicly available online sources, including other real estate listing platforms, classifieds websites, and social media pages (collectively, “Aggregated Listings”). This practice enables us to provide broader rental inventory to subscribers.

The personal data that may be collected through this process includes:

• Property owner or agent name (as publicly listed);
• Mobile phone number or WhatsApp contact number associated with the listing;
• Property address and locality;
• Rental price, property type, and availability details;
• Social media profile links or handles, where publicly available alongside a listing.

This data is sourced from publicly accessible listings. However, we acknowledge that individuals whose data is collected in this manner have not directly interacted with RentRadar and may not be aware of such collection. We therefore observe the following safeguards:

• Purpose limitation: Aggregated Listing data is used solely to connect tenants with available rental properties. It is not used for profiling, marketing to the owner, or any other unrelated purpose.
• Data minimisation: We collect only the personal data necessary to describe and attribute the property listing.
• Opt-out and removal: If you are a property owner or individual whose contact details appear in an Aggregated Listing and you wish to have your data removed from our platform, you may contact our Grievance Officer. We will process such requests within 72 hours.
• Retention: Aggregated Listing data is retained only for as long as the listing is reasonably considered active, and in any event no longer than 90 days from the date of aggregation unless refreshed from a current public source.
• Accuracy: We make reasonable efforts to ensure that Aggregated Listings are current and accurate; however, we do not independently verify the identity of the listed individual.

DATA PRINCIPAL RIGHTS

As a data principal, you are entitled to exercise the following statutory rights under Applicable Law:

• Right to access: You may request a summary of your personal data being processed and a list of third-party data processors with whom your data has been shared.
• Right to correction & erasure: You have the right to rectify inaccurate data or request the erasure of your personal data once the purpose of processing is fulfilled.
• Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent as easily as it was given. Upon withdrawal, RentRadar will cease processing, which will result in the immediate forfeiture of access to training portals and certificates.
• Right to nominate: You may nominate an individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

SECURITY

Security Safeguards: We implement technical and organizational security measures as per to prevent data breaches and to protect your sensitive financial data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

We implement industry-standard security measures, including SSL encryption, to protect your data. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials.

RETENTION AND ERASURE

RentRadar shall erase personal data upon:

• The withdrawal of consent by you.
• The completion of the purpose, unless retention is required by the Applicable Law or other Indian laws.

PROCESSING OF DATA

We do not sell your Personal Data to third parties. However, we share information in the following ways:

• Between Users: We share owner contact details with premium subscribers and vice versa to facilitate rental transactions.
• Service Providers: We may share data with trusted partners who assist in operating our website, processing payments (e.g., Razorpay/Stripe), or delivering WhatsApp messages.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

Users under the age of 18 are classified as children. We do not process the data of minors without verifiable parental consent. We strictly prohibit:

SUB-PROCESSORS

To support delivery of our Services, RentRadar may engage and use data processors with access to certain Personal Data (each, a “Subprocessor”). This section provides important information about the identity, location and role of each Subprocessor.

RentRadar utilizes certain infrastructure and software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers who may, in turn, engage downstream “sub-processors” to facilitate specialized functions (e.g., cloud storage, content delivery networks, or database management).

• General Authorization: By agreeing to this Policy, you provides general written authorization for RentRadar to involve such Sub-processors.
• Notification of Change: RentRadar shall maintain an up-to-date list of its primary Subprocessors. In the event of a change in the Subprocessors, such list will be updated.

The Company ensures that every Subprocessor is bound by a valid contract (data processing agreement) that imposes the same high standard of data protection as required under Applicable Law.

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING

When you create an account and/or obtain access to our Services, you will be able to receive promotional emails regarding latest offers and discounts from us.

In accordance with Applicable Law, RentRadar shall utilize your personal data for communication and marketing purposes strictly under the following mandates:

Operational & Transactional Communications

RentRadar will process your contact data (Email, WhatsApp, SMS) to send essential service-related communications. These are processed under the legal ground of contractual necessity and include.

Promotional & Marketing Communications

RentRadar may process your Personal Data to provide information regarding new upskilling programs, placement drives, webinars, and discounted offers. Such processing is strictly subject to the following:

• Explicit opt-in: Marketing communications are sent only to Data Principals who have provided affirmative consent via our subscription forms or checkbox mechanisms.
• Personalization & profiling: We may analyze your usage trends and academic interests to provide relevant recommendations.
• Third-party marketing: RentRadar does not sell or rent your personal data to third-party marketers. We may, however, use data processors (e.g., Mailchimp, WhatsApp Business API) to facilitate our own outreach.

Right to Withdraw Consent (Opt-Out)

You may withdraw consent for marketing by:

• Clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link or “STOP” keyword which forms part of every promotional email or SMS;
• Manual Request: You may email support@rentradar.in with the subject “Marketing Opt-Out” to be removed from all promotional registries within 48 hours.

Effect of Withdrawal: Withdrawal of marketing consent will not affect the delivery of operational & transactional communications necessary for your ongoing course or internship.

Please note that in case you don’t wish to receive such e-mail, you have the full liberty to opt-out of such communication at any time.
